• I’m wondering if there are common places to look for fixes related to inconsistent viewing results between browsers?

    I have 2 main issues:

    1st Issue
    I add images to my posts via WPG2. When I view the blog with Firefox (3.0) the images are visible. When I view them with IE (6.0) the images links are broken. I get a box with the image name and a red ‘X’.

    2nd Issue
    I also use the Google maps module with G2. I have a WP page with an embedded Google map. WPG2 is supposed to handle logging WP users into G2. All users are subscribers & all subscribers have G2 capability. In Firefox the map does not resolve, but instead asks me to login. In IE the map resolves.

    NOTE
    To make this even more confusing a friend tried to hit the site using Firefox and got broken photo links and got the log in prompt when trying to view the map.

    I’ve cleared caches and cookies for both browsers. I’ve cleared the Gallery2 caches via http://www.mydomain.com/gallery2/lib/support/. I also have Lightbox support disabled.

    CONFIGURATION DETAILS
    My webhost is Bluehost.com.

    Here’s are my versions:

    Gallery version = 2.2.4 core 1.2.0.6
    Webserver = Apache/2.2.8
    PHP version = 5.2.6 cgi-fcgi
    Database = mysqlt 5.0.45I

    Because my blog is a private blog (protected by Angsuman’s Authenticated plug-in) I’m not posting the URL here.

    Since this seems to me to be a WP plug-in issue I’m posting here. I’ll understand if you relocate my post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

  • Very hard to know what’s going on without seeing the pages affected, but at a guess, maybe the paths are wrong in the WPG2 configuration

    For WPG2 issues, it’s worth posting at the dedicated forum for the plugin:

    Thanks, Les! Appreciate your stab at this. It’s hard to imagine why wrong paths would result in one browser resolving properly and another not resolving properly, but I suppose it could be. The paths look to be correct to me.

    I took your advice and posted to the G2 forum. I wasn’t sure about posting to both. Didn’t want to upset anyone.
