Sometimes when I save a page from “view” mode all the line breaks and regular breaks disappear. Then I’m stuck having to manually insert the line breaks again. Also, when this happens other things like alignment of images and such also get thrown off.

Like I said it’s not all the time but when it happens it is absolutely maddening. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Andrew

I noticed after this happened a fourth time tonight that it happened after I click “update” button on post (to save my current work) then site goes blank. At that point the URL is website/wp-admin/post.php. When I navigate to post or edit mode for post the line breaks and character returns get jacked and/or I’ll get a message similar to “the version in your browser is older than …. “Restore backup””.

What makes you think this is to do with Squelch Tabs and Accordions Shortcodes?

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have another page that uses your same shortcodes and it happens on that page as well. So all in all I have two pages that use these shortcodes and both have been doing this.

After some work late into the night, now I’m having problems simply updating the page itself. Is there any kind of limitations on page site or length when using nested tabs?

So you’re ONLY seeing this behaviour on pages that have Squelch Tabs and Accordions shortcodes on them?

Would I be able to email you the content for that page as a test? I basically cannot post any new content without getting the blank white screen after submitting “Publish”.

Hi, I’m planning on attempting to replicate your bug on a clean server (minus the theme) to see if I can pinpoint what is happening, but I’ve not had time the last few days. If you want to give me the page source then feel free, but I’m not convinced the issue is in the page source. My email is: hi at squelch design dot com

I appreciate that very much. Might the issue be the size/length of the page itself and anything to do with timeout threshold set after you press “update” for WordPress?

    (@squelch)

If that’s the case then you’ll have an error message in your logs. If you’ve got access to the logs take a look and see if there is anything about a timeout.

That’s really only a wild guess. I’ve asked my host for some info in the meantime.

I’ve tried installing all the plugins you list in a clean install and I’m not seeing the problem you describe which narrows the issue down:

    – Are you running the latest version of WordPress?
    – Your theme might have a bug in it, or be incompatible with one of your plugins
    – The configuration of one of the plugins you are using could be causing issues
… I’ve seen issues like this caused by redirection plugins in the past, maybe try disabling that plugin and see if it helps?
… You have a number of plugins that appear to be sending information to external services when you publish/update a page, if one of those is having difficulties reaching its external service it could perhaps be upsetting the page

The only course of action I can recommend is the standard debugging procedure for any system, which I outline in the documentation for Squelch Tabs and Accordions:

    http://squelchdesign.com/wordpress-plugin-squelch-tabs-accordions-shortcodes/#troubleshooting

Basically you need to disable things one at a time until you can pinpoint where the issue is. Getting access to your web server logs could also really help in diagnosing the issue.
