I use Social plugin to notify people of my posts. Only problem is, when a post is duplicated, the social settings from the old post are still remembered.

Sometimes it thinks it already posted to my Twitter and Facebook when I duplicate a post.

I am going to also post this problem at Social to see which end the problem is on.

    Hi,
I quickly looked at Social plugin code, it seems that it’s using a custom field called _social_notify to track which posts have been shared.
When you clone a post, my plugin copies it with all other post data, and Social thinks it’s been already posted to TW/FB.
I suggest you try to add _social_notify to the “Do not copy these fields” list, it should fix the issue.

Let me know about it, hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick response. I tried a couple ways – _social_notify and “_social_notify”. I cleaned out the caches and optimized all tables. Went back in, Chose “New Draft”, but the Social did not get fixed.

I’ve tried to install Social to do some tests.
It seems to use some more custom fields to track a post’s sharing status…
Try to add these in the same list as above:
    _social_aggregation_next_run,_social_notify,_social_broadcast_content,_social_broadcast_meta,_social_broadcasted_ids

That looks to have done it! I have applied across my websites! Thanks!
