    I have been searching and searching for a WordPress plugin that can give me the simple functionality of a petition but I haven’t found anything. I’ve even searched Polling and Voting plugins to see if any of these can be used but nothing has stood out.

    Please, if anyone knows about a petition plugin, I would be very grateful. I’m happy to pay for it too.

    When you consider the basic functionality I need, it seems astonishing that I can’t find one. This is all I need it to be able to do:

    • Users enter name and email to sign a petition (double opt-in)
    • A Shortcode to display the current number of signatures
    • Users can choose to leave a comment when they sign
    • A shortcode to display the names of the 50 most recent signers

    and that is ALL I NEED. With these features I can pretty much build the petition I need.

    Please advise me.

    I found this;

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/speakup-email-petitions/faq/

    • Users can enter name and email to sign a petition
    • There is a shortcode to display the current number of signatures – [signaturelist id=”1″]

    So that looks like a good start! You may have to do/request some extra development or change your requirements if this isn’t quite right, I would recommend using this as a start point and adapting it to your exact needs if need be either yourself or hiring a freelance WordPress developer. Appreciate your help. This does look quite good. Thank you.
    I can’t believe I didn’t think about searching through the free plugins here, I just assumed I would have to buy a plugin for this.

    Thanks again.
