How to create a header bar above navigation

I am using the theme Banshee and working on this site: http://adriangraphics.com/truturf/

I would like to create a social header bar with social icons, phone number and image like the green bar on http://www.advancedgrass.com/

This option is not available in the theme customization and I am not sure what I need to do in the CSS or PHP to modify this! If anyone could help, that would be great!
