Contact Form 7 – Dynamic Select menu broken

We had a dynamically generated select menu, based on the code at this page…

Everything was working great until this week, when seemingly out of the blue we get a Fatal Error:
Fatal error: Cannot access private property WPCF7_Pipes::$pipes…

Did this get broken by a CF7 update, or did something else happen?
