    Really odd; after months of this plugin running smoothly, I’ve run into a problem. Last night when I tried running a backup I got the following error on several files: WARNING: File Name too long to be saved correctly in Targz archive

    I don’t know know why this is happening; I haven’t made any changes to any file names recently.

    The only recent change that I DID do was I had to uninstall WP Touch Mobile, deactivate Wizapp plugin and deactivate and reactive W3 cache (page, browser and minify) as I was having a conflict with all 3.

    And I deleted several of the file names but it still shows in the error log when I ran another backup.

    Is there anyway that could be the culprit and if so how to fix?

    And do to the fact I’ve made no recent changes in filesize I went ahead and scanned my site and my computer for any security issue and everything came back clean.

    Ok an update after me tinkering with some things; first I went and deleted the files again because it looks like the minify cache wasn’t allowing them to delete.

    So I (A) disabled then reactivated minify
    (B) deleted all the image files that I could

    But then I noticed that WP Touch was listed under ‘Backup Content folder’ and that both Wiziapp, and WP Smart (another mobile I plugin that I tried but disabled and deleted.) all had check boxes for backing up. So if I delete all the files, a plugin would still show up in options?

    So I unchecked the box for all those options as well as for cache. Now it runs better but I’m getting the 5 minute inactivity warning and a ‘400 offset will be corrected’ notice.

    Any other thoughts on why minify would go haywire after any of the changes I mentioned and anything else I should do re: settings?

    Please exclude the cache folder from backup.

    In the Big box for excludes add ,/cache/. That will exclue all cache folders from all directorys.

    Thank you Daniel. I went ahead and deactivated minify permanently because it was giving me other issues. With cache folder excluded it’s working better…but still get the inactivity warning which I haven’t had in awhile. Any idea on how to fix?

    Set the option for Mximum Execution tim in BAckWPup > Settings > Tab: Jobs to 30 Secounds.

    Daniel,

    I can’t find that under the settings page in BackWPUp. Is it under a different tab? I’ve checked everywhere I could think to look but I’m missing something.

    It is not in the Job settings it is in generl settings.

    Hi Daniel. I still don’t see it under general settings. This is what I see:

    Display Settings

    Do you want to see BackWPup in the WordPress admin bar?

    Admin bar Admin Bar Show BackWPup links in admin bar.
    Folder sizes Folder sizes Display folder sizes on Files tab if job edited. (Might increase loading time of Files tab.)
    Security

    Security option for BackWPup

    Protect folders Protect folders Protect BackWPup folders ( Temp, Log and Backups ) with .htaccess and index.php

    Was that something added in a recent update?

    Oh, sorry.
    You must update BackWPup first to have this option. That cames with 3.1

    I have the same problem

    1. WARNING: File name “-XXX.pluginlist.2014-03-28.txt” is too long to be saved correctly in TarGz archive!

    XX = the file name – a long word
    I add the “excludes /cache/” directory

    2. WARNING: Job finished with warnings in 201 seconds. Please resolve them for correct execution.

    I get this message also after I set the value of
    “Maximum script execution time” up to 5000 (I start with 30)

    And still the problem remains
    What do you suggest?
