• Today I woke up and posted a blog article that accompanied a featured image on my post and it uploaded fine. I went to run some errands, came back and sat down to post another article which also had an accompanying featured image. The difference in the two experiences is that my image uploaded fine in the first post however I got the lovely error “Missing Temporary Folder” in the second article I posted.

I’ve tried all of the typical fixes which were already in place (php.ini with the directives to find the tmp folder). That wasn’t the issue. After getting highly frustrated with no support from MediaTemple, I decided to go to another location with a different Internet connection. Well what do ya know, the image uploaded fine.

What in the world could the ISP be blocking to disallow me uploading an image a few hours apart from the first post? If someone could enlighten me, that would be wonderful.

  • It might me your hosting provider running a few checks. ISP’s do not have blocking policies as such (only mandated by intel agencies in movies).

It might be that the hosting provider may be suffering from overload or doing some upgrades of system hardware/software etc.
