Not compatible with older (1.9.x) Nextgen. Very bad job. I uninstall this galery from all sites.

@elpresidento – That’s very true. NextGEN Legacy versions (before 2.0.x) have a completely different codebase for the most part and there are many third-party extension whose authors have not bothered to make compatible with the current NextGEN Gallery codebase … it’s very sad as there were many good works out there.

Medicine for this pain is called NextCellent

@elpresidento – There have been mixed reports on using that plugin but if it is working for you then that is what matters most.

    Best of Luck!

Backward compatibility is the MOST important for me. I have many posts, many galeries … I appreciate the work you’ve done … but … compatibility
    NextCellent works perfectly.

elpresidento – Just following up on some old reviews. As you know this review was written following a major overhaul of the plugin in version 2.0. At this point, most of the issues related to that overhaul of the plugin have been long addressed.

With respect to 1.9.x compatibility, there were only a few areas in which we weren’t fully compatible, including things like certain specific shortcodes or custom templates. Those have been addressed as well.

I’m not sure if you’ve had a chance to use NextGEN Gallery since your review, but given the current performance of the plugin, a one-star rating seems a bit harsh, and we’re wondering if you might consider revising your rating?

Let us know if you have question. Thanks. (Erick)
