How to install plugins in Amazon's EC2 instances?

    Has anyone figure out how to install plugins and themes in an Amazon instance using WordPress’ Admin auto-install feature?

    When i click the “Install Now” link, i get a form asking me for the FTP credentials (including a password) to connect. However, there are no passwords to connect to an Amazon EC2 instance. Connections to instances is ordinarily done via SSH’s Key Pairs.

    Has anyone being able to install and use an FTP server on the Amazon Linux instance? Is my only option to install manually by downloading the zip file from the plugin’s author website?
