The problem seems to be happening once I try to hide certain tags, it seems to conflict with the tag I use to choose the featured posts.

(EDIT: Can you post a screenshot of what you have as your Exclude settings (does disabling exclude fix this issue?) )

First, apologies for not getting back to you sooner (they should really come up with a way of alerting us when there are open issues…)

I’ll look into this and get it resolved as soon as I can.

Sorry for not replying sooner, didn’t get an email about your answer.
    Screen shot here.
I’m only using the exclude function, tag 91 is missing, I removed it to try to solve the problem. Also tag 93 is the one I’m using to get post in the grid on my homepage.

I’m having a bit of difficulty recreating this bug, to a certain extent. I was able to get it to spit out 6 posts that weren’t related to the featured tag, however, after changing the featured tag to something else and back again the system seem to play catch up and everything worked as it should – with exclude activated.

Initially, it was spitting out 6 posts, but changing it from homepage to homepages and back to homepage set the featured posts slider to only spit out 3 (I only had 3 posts tagged homepage for testing purposes).

I even tried it with a fresh install of the plugin, and it was giving me the 3 posts that were tagged as homepage with exclude module activated.

I tried a fresh install and it seemed to be working correctly until I added a tag to a post that is excluded in your plugin, then it returned to 6 posts featured on the homepage. So it works fine untill a tag added to a post.
Thanks a lot for looking into this, additional question, I gave your plugin a 5 star rating a few months ago, but it seems to be disappeared, do ratings dissappear whenever you release an update of your plugin?

I honestly have no clue how they do ratings here. I would have to assume that they don’t vanish every time an update is released, but maybe each release has its own set of ratings? I mean, that seems kind of like a terrible way of doing things…

Still looking into what’s going on with the plugin, though. If its doing this in the wild, I would like to be able to reproduce the circumstances/see the bug in action so that I can go about fixing it, but so far, no luck. I’ll keep trying.

Hi Matt, it seems that you found something so I installed the update you released. The grid is working fine now, but it looks like the exclude function isn’t working anymore all the categories and tags I excluded on the homepage, search results, … are viewable.

Rolled it back with an update.

Just updated to wordpress 3.9 and updated your plugin and everything seems to be working fine now! Thanks for all the effort in fixing this problem.

Awesome – I’m glad to hear it!
