I had 2.0.40 installed and everything worked fine untill I installed 2.0.57. After the update it did not display my galleries anywhere, not even in “manage galleries”. I also tried the beta version 2.0.57.1 and the new 2.0.58 but I get the same result.

Naturally I went back to the last working version and installed 2.0.40 again and the galleries show without any problems, but now the lightbox effect is completely gone. I’ve tried the different lightbox options and I’ve changed themes and deactivated all my other plugins. Nothing I’ve tried has made any difference.

I have installed other gallery- and lightbox plugins to see if this problem is related to NextGen only, and that seems to be the case.

I’m fine with using 2.0.40 but would love to have lightbox working. Is there an easy solution to this?

So nobody else got the same problems or have any idea of what a fix for them could be? I’ve tried 2.0.59 now also, but the galleries are still gone.

    Hi danielhagelin,

you can try the follow solution:

    please have a look under

“Gallery” –> “other options” –> “lightbox effects” –> “(Show advanced settings)”

Their you’ll find a dropdown checkbox with the various lightboxes.

Check their for even lightbox (lightbox, fancybox, Shutter, Shutter2, Thickbox) the URL pathes to the stylesheet folders and the Javascript folders. They have to look like this examples (here for Fancybox):

    For Stylesheet:

    http://www.your-Domain.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/lightbox/static/fancybox/jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.css

    For Java:

    http:/www.your-Domain.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/lightbox/static/fancybox/jquery.easing-1.3.pack.js
    http://www.your-Domain.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/lightbox/static/fancybox/jquery.fancybox-1.3.4.pack.js
    http://www.your-Domain.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/lightbox/static/fancybox/nextgen_fancybox_init.js

If your pathes not look like these examples, the lightboxes and also the Sliders will not work.

Also have a look to the documentation of NextGEN on the Site of photocrati:

@dexter733 – Thanks! There are a lot of good suggestions there.

@danielhagelin – With 2.0.59 installed and activated you can try using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options … you might also look at clearing the image cache afterward under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous.

    – Cais.

It’s all working now with 2.0.40. It’s wierd because I already tried changing the paths in the advanced settings on lightbox once before, but I must have made some mistake. The slider actually worked then, but the lightbox did not. At least it’s fixed now.

The reset and cache clearing did nothing for my 2.0.59 problem so I’ll stick with the working one I have now.

Thanks for your help, both of you!
