[Plugin: WP-o-Matic] Feed url’s get cut short

I resolved this myself the other day but thought I would post it in case it helps someone else.

I found WPOMatic chopped off a certain amount of characters in feed url’s, rendering them useless – after hours of wondering why, it dawned on me…the feed url field is varchar(255) in the database. I am running mysql 4+ in which this is maximum chars. allowed, so i changed the field to ‘text’, pasted the feed url in and it all worked.

I think mysql 5+ can have more chars in the varchar field, so its not a problem…but for anyone else having the same problem, I hope this helps and saves you some time! 🙂
