Support » Plugin: Import CSV or XML Datafeed With Ease » Version 3.5 causes errors in WordPress admin

I’ve been using this plugin for several months and it has usually worked well.

However I upgraded to the latest version (3.5) today and it is causing errors in the WordPress admin. Specifically:

    • The post editing buttons (bold, italic, link, blockquote etc…) disappear
    • Parts of the admin that require Javascript such as the comment moderation page or the post scheduling options on a new post page do not work

Disabling WP Ultimate CSV Importer Plugin makes the problem go away, re-enabling brings it back again, so I’m sure it’s a problem with this version of this plugin. The problem occurs in Firefox and Chrome.

    This problem aside, it’s a five-star plugin.

@notpoppy, issues reported by users have been fixed. Kindly upgrade to 3.5.1 and update your review here. Let us know your revised feedback on latest 3.5.1. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply. However I get a fatal error when I try to activate 3.5.1:

Warning: require_once(lib/skinnymvc/controller/SkinnyController.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [domain root]/wp-content/plugins/wp-ultimate-csv-importer/index.php on line 26

It is advised to remove all old version files to upgrade to 3.5 version. If you not did that better deactivate and delete the plugin completely. And do complete new install 3.5.1 version. Hope this helps to solve the issue as we cannot reproduce such error in our test environment. Let me know the results for further analysis.

I’ve done that and version 3.5.1 has activated this time.

This version appears to be some conflict with another plugin I’m running. I’m not sure which one yet as I disabled several of them at once and that seemed to make the CSV importer work.

Before I did that the plugin behaviour was as follows:

I’m not able to upload a file for conversion. If I click ‘browse’ and select a file and then click ‘Next’ the ‘Next’ button does nothing.

If I drag-and-drop the file onto the page as it indicates I can it doesn’t respond correctly either.

The ‘Mapping configuration’ and ‘Import option settings’ buttons also do nothing when I click on them. The uppermost buttons (Post, Page, Users/Roles etc…) do seem to work.

If I work out which plugin is causing the conflict I’ll post again here with more information.

Let me know the results, also can you provide the snap of all plugins you have? So that we can try to reproduce the same issue.

It looks like the issue has been solved now? Waiting for your update here.

OK I’ve managed to isolate the plugin it is conflicting with – it’s called Motor Racing League 1.9.5:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/motor-racing-league/

When this plugin is active then in Ultimate CSV I can select a file to upload but it doesn’t process and I can’t click next. I’ve tried deactivating a reactivating Motor Racing League a few times and without fail Ultimate CSV works when Motor Racing League is disabled.

As a workaround I am simply leaving Ultimate CSV deactivated when I’m not using it, but I’m sure you’d prefer to work out which plugin needs a tweak so it can play nicely with the other one!
