• Hi all,

I’m changing the primary domain of a wordpress site, but the site is staying on the same hosting.

I’ve got the new domain pointed to the same hosting space successfully, and the site currently answers to both domains.

I’ve updated the WP domains in Settings – General and now site URLs display successfully as the new domain. All permalinks etc. work.

Now I want to pickup any SEO entries using 301 redirects. I’ve seen example of code to add to the .htaccess file to wildcard redirect old paths to new paths (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/domain-change-and-301-redirect?replies=6), and this works fine, but not WITH the standard WordPress rewrite code included aswell, which I also need for the permalink friendly URLs.

Any idea how to do a wildcard redirect from xxx.com to yyy.com while leaving the standard WP Rewrite rules in place as the core site is remaining on the same hosting?

    Thanks
    Rob
