Fatal error when deleting plugin files then connecting Jetpack

    I just noticed that when I deleted the plugin files (without deactivating) and then went to connect to Jetpack that the site fatal errored. The error was that WP Super Cache files did not exist (duh). Visiting the plugin page for WordPress to disable the plugin seems to have resolved it, however I wanted to log the issue here in case there is anything that can be done to alleviate that in the future.

    Were you using a new install of the plugin? WordPress looks for the WP_CACHE constant on start up and blindly loads wp-content/advanced-cache.php. That file checks if wp-cache-phase1.php exists and if not doesn’t try to load it.

    ‘Course if you deleted wp-content/advanced-cache.php then it’s all over and nothing can be done because WP is gonna try load it!

    It was a new install. I removed the two cache files in wp-content and then removed the lines added in wp-config.php before the site worked again.
