Hi,
CloudFlare’s an incoming proxy and isn’t part of the picture for this. It’s outgoing proxies that can potentially interfere. (i.e. Any proxy that may be involved if UD on your site attempts to talk to Amazon S3).

I see.
Is it possible other plugins can conflict with this? I will try to shut down all plugins and make a backup to see if the error pops up. If it doesn’t then I can find the culprit.
If I still see the error with only updraftplus activated, what steps do you recommend to take to find what’s wrong?
This is on a VPS and I have full access. Can’t recall I did anything different recently though.
Hi,
Do you have any other plugins that have features for accessing S3? I can’t think of a way for one to conflict, though.
If you’ve got full access, then turn off SSL in the UD ‘expert’ options, and then use something like tcpdump or tcpflow to capture the network traffic to S3 – and send it to me at contact at updraftplus dot com. Try to filter it to not include all the network traffic, but just the S3 traffic!

Hi franzvz,
We found how to fix this. If you de-install and re-install UD (all settings will be remembered), then the problem should be gone. (The version will still show as 1.8.12 – we’ve not changed that yet as this problem appears to only affect a tiny number of S3 users).
Best wishes,
David
