• I have hacked apart the system but have it basically working for me as a news system…BUT
When I click the read more… link on my front page, it doesn’t just go to the full post on a new page, it jumps to the BOTTOM of that new page-ALWAYS. Did I miss a tag somewhere that forces the page to the top? this seems very weird to me. Even if I put in the original index.php page, as soon as it jumps to my new index page (which gets loaded as a full post page) it jumps to the bottom.
    here’s the link:

I tried to search the support pages for this but nothing came up that helped. Thanks!

  • Sound like you are a candidate for “the_excerpt()”

If I only knew how to USE the_excerpt
    Guess I’ll start playing again.
On a side note, anyone know how to simply change this pehavior in the PHP code somewhere? This system will continue to be used for news, so I always want it to go to the top of the page when they click more.

this post had what I needed:
    http://wordpress.org/support/10/13582
Now I can use the Excerpt for the intro to the story and still have a read more… link after the story. Yeah!
