First letters of translated words are disapearing!!

I have been working on a webstore using woocommmerce-nl for a while now, and never had any problems. Just today I noticed the first letters of some words are dissaering on the product, order and checkout pages….

the from label now says “anaf” in stead of “Vanaf”, teh breadcrumb “ome” in stead of “Home”, at checkout I see “w bestelling” instead of “Uw bestelling” and “lgemene voorwaarden” instead of “Algemene voorwaarden”.

There’s a couple more of those… What could have happened?? Is it a bug? Is my site being hacked?

I did open the .mo and .po files, but that couldn’t be the problem, could it?
