Facebook like share external stories/links, content?

I am finding that I have a problem when it comes to sharing external content on my blog. I would like to share content from other sites in the same was as I can on facebook. There, when sharing something, the topic and the preview image shows up and it looks great to anyone looking at my page.

With wordpress, I need to either live with a page full of linked URL’s and manually having to grab the other persons preview image to then put it into my own post, plus having to build a table so that those links look good.

Is there some plugin or a way in which I could share interesting external content on my blog without having to go through so much manual work?
