If you find object-cache.php file in your site’s wp-content folder, then try re-naming it.
Similar problem here. I just updated W3 Total Cache today, April 5. Right after the update, the error message shows up on the Plugins page and the Performance (W3 Total Cache) settings page: “The Object Cache add-in file object-cache.php is not a W3 Total Cache drop-in. Remove it or disable Object Caching.”
Please help.
Just remove the file and W3TC will re-add it if needed.
I got this error on an upgrade just now — and it was a W3TC file but apparently out of date enough that it wasn’t detected as such.

i got the “The Object Cache add-in file object-cache.php is not a W3 Total Cache drop-in. Remove it or disable Object Caching.” message some days ago, hit the “remove” button without any reaction. Today, i clicked “remove” again, which leads to a 500 server error, refreshing brought me a white screen and i cannot access dashboard anymore. website works.
Login leads to a white admin page, but obviously i am logged in, because i can access admin panel in the frontend. But trying to empty any module via the admin panel leads to white page again.
in the wp-content folder, there is no object-cache.php file. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks!

Try replacing object-cache.php with the file downloaded from https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/.
This worked for me.
If I deleted the file either manually or via pressing the remove button, W3TC would replace the file with an empty 0kb object-cache.php.
I have a multi site wordpress setup. Each time after I upload object-cache.php, it gets automatically replaced by 0kb object-cache.php. Any ideas of how to fix this?
This is a bug in the current release (0.9.2.4) that has been fixed in the next release. To address the issue, you can allow W3 Total Cache to fix it by clicking the button that appears.
If that doesn’t work, you can manually delete the file via FTP and deactivate/reactivate W3 Total Cache.
And if that doesn’t work, you should email us so we can investigate.
@vitaliss: This worked for me, thanks. I deactivated the plugin, replaced the file, then reactivated. I don’t have the 0KB issue on a single site setup, so maybe deactivating the plugin first helps?
