So I’m thinking about installing MS on my good old regular blog (let’s just humbly call it bestblogever.com)

So, if I install a new blog, let’s call it “evenbetter”, so the url would look like this: bestblogever.com/evenbetter. Is it possible to set this new blog as the homepage of the blog, so that it looks like it’s on the main domain (bestblogever.com)?

I know it’s possible to do this with static pages in a regular installation. Just wondering if it would also be possible if I installed a new blog. That would sort of solve a huge potential dilemma right now… and thereby make my decision of wether or not to install MS a whole lot easier.

    Thanks!

    Possible, yes. Simple? Kind of.

But the real question is why?

I know it seems a little “messy” and weird (that’s what she said…) But it’s simply because I want to take my blog (domain) in a new direction, with a new responsive design, but at the same time keep the old blog with the old design. Is it overkill to install MS for that? Maybe, but I don’t see a simpler way…

It’s KIND of overkill. Most of the time people just update the theme and move on.

    Via multisite? Two options:

    1) Export the posts, import them to the other site, configure everything, and use .htaccess to redirect as needed (IF needed).

    2) Make a new site and swap the main site for the new site (I talk about it on page 80 or so in http://store.halfelf.org/ebooks/wordpress-multisite-110/ – pay what you want).

Which is easier is totally subjective :/

Yeah, I know. Guess this is not “most of the time”. 😉

My big issue with just updating the theme and move on (besides the fact that the blog will take a completely new direction, so it’s a little “gambling”), is this:

I posted that thread earlier, still waiting for someone to reply, maybe you can help? Because if there’s an easy fix to that, then I might just update to a new theme and move on, like you said…

I deleted your bump in that thread. It messes us up because people actually look for posts without replies here.

What’s the theme? There may be a way to upgrade it, but shooting blind is troubling.
