  • I bet someone thinks that’s just friggin’ hillarious. In the meantime, those of us that need to know the is_functions are left in the dark.
Sometimes I wonder if Wikis are the best choice for documentation…

isn’t that stuff on ryan boren’s site anyway? who bothers with the wiki these days? people post solutions and tutorials on their own sites now.

It pisses me off too. I was going to read through it to figure out what I needed to do to make sure my template files are read from the /wp-content/theme/name/ directory rather than the default templates.

Anonymous, the codex theme instructions are linked via the WordPress Dev Blog. And anyway, I like knowing the link to one site rather than having to search for links to multiple sites to find instructions on how to do something.

it looks like this guy thinks he is exposing a security flaw, when actually the openness of wikis is not a flaw, it’s a feature. there are only about two people working on documentation as it is so nobody wants to make it harder to contribute.
it’s obvious that wikis are not the best place for important information, but they’re better than nothing.

It’s fixed. Just has he dismantled the article on the codex wiki, anyone can fix it. Just click the “History” tab to view the previous version of the page, copy the last good version, go back to the dismantled page, click the “Edit” tab, and paste the old good page over the new crap page.

With any spamming crap on Codex, just make a post here and mention it or wait – it’ll get fixed once it’s spotted (and that’s usually quickly).
Like macmanx says though, you can just edit it back – and write something for the docs while you are there too 🙂

Thanks, I’m very glad to know that.

I can also be contacted for this as I have high-level access to the wiki.
