• Hi,
there’s a rather large mis-understanding of Google Analytics here — from the documentation about redirection: http://contactform7.com/redirecting-to-another-url-after-submissions/

“That’s not necessary at all. In fact, it’s an outdated and nonsense custom. Today you can track submissions with Google Analytics without any redirection.”

This is (mostly) incorrect. GA can detect when a user visits a form page. But if you only track to the contact form page, you cannot tell, in GA, how many people submitted the form (i.e., pressed the submit button). If you redirect to a thank you page, GA can then tell you the percentage of people that filled out and submitted the form; this is called a conversion. Without a thank you page you can only know your conversion rate by manually dividing your estimate of submission by how many people arrived on a form page (according to GA). Far easier, and far more accurate, to have a redirect to a thank you page and let GA calculate the conversion rate. For more details, see: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1006230?hl=en
