    1. UTF-8 support seemed to require an upgrade to the Pro version.
That was a big minus in my mind, but it turned to be a misunderstanding based on wording in the GUI.

    2. Advertising of the pro version is a bit too aggressive.
As soon as I installed the plugin I already had a notification that I should upgrade.

    Update: Feb 6, 2014
    1) Upon clarifications from the author, I changed parts related to UTF-8 support
    2) Subject was changed too (was: No UTF-8 in Free version, slightly overdone advertising of Pro version)
    3) Rating upped from 3 to 4 stars

Hope @jeffdrichardsongmailcom is not a fake account with only 3 weeks activity and negative views in wordpress community.

May be you misunderstood the feature or functionality with out tested the plugin. UTF-8 in pro version is auto conversion option. By default in free version you can import any utf-8 csv successfully. You have to refer other user comments to confirm this at least. Try to be patience and watch the forum/review before commenting.

Yes we do pro promotions but for only advanced features like a normal opportunity/lead generation method. This is how we manage the development expense.

Any how thanks for the comment.

    1) UTF-8: I see.
I did try to use it, of course, but I couldn’t import my CSV file because it was missing fields (it had an insufficient number of fields) so I stated what I saw on the screen. Maybe that message about UTF-8 can be reworded.
    2) My feeling about this is unchanged. It’s “a bit” over, not a lot or ridiculously over. If this part was more moderate, maybe I would have investigated the UTF-8 matter further.

Because my comment under 1) was “incorrect” (but, due to an unclear GUI message), I now think 4 stars would be my final rating for this plug-in.
But even 3 stars isn’t a bad rating (it’s not “very good”, but it’s “good”).

Well SomeThing, my previous comment is not to gain the rating. Compare to appreciation, criticism and negativity are very common in the community.

But the post title “No UTF-8 in Free version, slightly overdone advertising of Pro version” will mislead other community members.

FYI, the PRO promotions is to showcase the feature list to the admin users. This will help blog admins to switch to PRO version when they are need of managing thousands of posts with versioning, auto-mapping and some advanced features.

It’s all about how you are accepting things 🙂

I realized (I didn’t know that before) that I actually can change my review so I added earlier comments to the review so that they’re reflected in there.
I wouldn’t consider it a negative or biased review.
    Thanks!
