I am having the same issue. All the correct boxes are checked in admin but the comments boxes are not showing pages and posts. My site is http://www.mbkgrva.org runnnin on v3.8.1.
Need help desperately.

Hi, the site in question http://www.pamelajmulraney.com runs on v3.8.1 and uses the 2013 template. Until January 2014 all was fine, people were happily commenting away on the various posts etc. Suddenly, the commenting facility just disappeared. I’ve checked all the settings, commenting is allowed, both in “settings” and on the individual posts, nothing seems to have changed, but people cannot leave comments any longer. the comment box is simply not available.
Has anybody any ideas that might help solve this VERY awkward problem?
