When you switch to a default WordPress theme, what is the template setting in Events → Settings → Display (can you try using the Default Page Template, if you haven’t already done so) – does that resolve things for you?

The template is already the Default Page Template, but it doesn’t fix the issue.

OK. Certainly if I use Twenty Fourteen and the Default Page Template I can see the left hand sidebar just fine, in month view and for single events.

Perhaps you can share a URL so we can see this problem?

    Please see this page: http://mh.btmm-dev.com/events/

It should be showing a default set of widgets in the main sidebar.

I have also now deactivated all plugins bar this one but the issue persists.

OK, looks like you have since changed back to PageLines. That’s a commercial theme and, I’m afraid, not one we can offer too much help with here.

I do know that over on the PRO forum we helped someone using PageLines and the only issue with sidebars on event pages was a formatting/CSS issue – so it definitely ought to be possible.

I have set up a test site for this (http://testing.squarestarmedia.com/events-calendar/?post_type=tribe_events). There’s a brand new installation of wordpress using only the 2014 theme and the problem is there immediately after activation. No changes in settings.

Please note that this has been the case with every installation I have tried with the events calendar, no matter the theme.

Another issue that all these installations have had in common is that wordpress thinks the page is a 404 – the body class always has error404 added. You can see it at the above address.

Permalinks updated, so the test page is here now: http://testing.squarestarmedia.com/events-calendar/events/

OK, it looks though like you are using the Default Events Template. However, can I ask you to try using the Default Page Template?

OK. Certainly if I use Twenty Fourteen and the Default Page Template I can see the left hand sidebar just fine, in month view and for single events.

You can find this setting in Events → Settings → Display.

    Does that help?

Yes, that helps thanks – you can see the sidebars at the test page now.

WordPress still uses the error404 template though. While this isn’t a problem on the 2014 theme, it is on others (specifically Pagelines, which I’m hoping to ultimately get set up correctly).

However, that’s kind of a different issue, so I’ll mark this resolved and open a new support request.

Great, glad we got this one solved!
