I posted a blog today and noticed the text contained special characters and such. Any way to fix this? The profile is https://www.facebook.com/mikeymckoy. The post is about Ariana Grande’s hair.
    How do i fix this?

Here’s a quote of what everything looks like.

Ariana’s fans have been giving her a hard time about her hair extensions lately
People give Nickolodeon star Ariana Grande a hard time about her hair and not changing the style up. In true Generation Y fashion the fashionable teen took to Instagram to explain her style to the public. The 20-year-old explained that she essentially destroyed her natural hair, when she had to bleach and dye it red “every other week” on the Nickelodeon show “Sam & Cat.” Grande explained that she wears fake hair styled in a ponytail, because her “actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd” when she wears it down.
We guess hair extensions are the only way to cover up damaged hair. What would you do?

Are you writing a specific message in the “message facebook” box, or allowing the normal post excerpt to be used?

Looks like somehow you’re getting the “curly quotes” passed in to Facebook where it is expecting plain text

Not sure what you mean by curly quotes. should it not be able to transmit those characters? Quotes are standard in english. Is this a charset problem somehow?

I have it set to publish as a link. I really like that option cause people can read some or all of the blog text. How can I fix this?

If you are posting as a link there’s nothing I can do about it.

When you post as a link, Facebook reads that link and goes and fetches a description, using your og: meta tags, or scraping text directly from the body of the post. (This all happens outside WPBook’s control).

There are different characters used to represent quotes and apostrophes.

‘ is a straight apostrophe, while ’ is not.
” is a simple quote, while “ and ” are what are commonly called “curly quotes.”

For some reason, Facebook is getting the ascii code for the curly quote rather than rendering it.

Putting your web post url in the facebook debugger: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object?q=http%3A%2F%2Fmyforeverhair.com%2Fblog%2Fcelebrity-hair%2Fariana-grande-says-wears-fake-hair-every-drag-queen-earth%2F

Actually looks like it should be fine – are you sure you are posting as a link?
