    Your condition group says:

Display sidebar with page Test Sidebar Page or any media containing any category and written by any author and using any page template.

Obviously that condition cannot be satisfied, so you need to split it into several condition groups.

    E.g.
Group 1: Test Sidebar Page, Media
    Group 2: All authors
    Group 3: All Page templates
    Group 4: All categories

However, group 2 will overrule them all, since all singulars are written by an author.

    Thank you Joachim Jensen,
I cut down my condition group to Test Sidebar Page, Media and now my new sidebar shows correctly.

I don’t know what “media” is for (maybe this means that media can be added to the sidebar? That would be a nice feature.

I am new to WordPress. I don’t under stand the other conditions. Not important as I just want to put different sidebars of some pages anyway.

I tried changing my “Test Sidebar Page” from the “Default Template” to the “Front Page Template” and “Full-Width Template” and the new sidebar didn’t show for either template. So, I assume that sidebars can only be shown with the “Default Template”? So, the “All Page Templates” condition makes no since to me?

“Media” means that the sidebar will be displayed on all attachment pages.

In WordPress a page can get a different “view” by selecting a template. Read more about it here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Page_Templates
“Full-Width Template” and “Front Page Template” most likely do not have the sidebar that you want to replace, e.g. Main Sidebar.

“All Page Templates” means that the sidebar will be displayed on all pages with a selected template (excluding default).

    Okay, Thanks again Joachim Jensen

My site is not a blog and therefore only has pages.

The “Full-Width Template” has no sidebar. So, any page with this template can have not sidebar.

I tested the “Front Page Template” and was able to get new sidebars to show. The sidebars are actually at the bottom of the page where two widget areas are).

I tested the “All Page Templates” condition for pages with the “Default Template” which includes a sidebar. This did change all such pages to have my test sidebar except for the Home page. The home page is set as a static page. It has the “Default Template” with sidebar information. I don’t understand why this page didn’t get changed to my test sidebar. Any ideas?

It is not normal behaviour that pages with a default/no template should display a sidebar with the condition “All Page Templates”, and unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem.

If you want the sidebar to show up on the front page, add a new condition group and add Static Pages: Front Page.

    Thanks again Joachim Jensen,
I created a separate sidebar for my static page and it worked just fine.

I could not add the condition to my original test sidebar (which was for an individual page) as the static page condition overrides the individual page condition.

I am good to go with this plugin.
