Hi Larry,
The best way to post the log file is to go to pastebin.com, post it in there, and then post the link to it here.
Best wishes,
David
David,

Hi Larry,
Thanks, that helps… more data-gathering before I can suggest what’s up: If you go into your site via FTP, and look in the directory wp-content, then can you list for me all the files + directories you find there? (Just one-level – i.e. don’t recurse and list sub-directories).
Best wishes,
David
Hi David,
Here’s the new link to my log: http://pastebin.com/PRjtaGmu
Here’s the new link to the contents of Wp-Content: http://pastebin.com/xrkM6GS9
Thanks for responding so swiftly!
All best,

Hmmm. It’s a very odd place for the logging to stop.
1) Can you try the development version, and see if that gets a different result? (+ post log file) – http://updraftplus.com/faqs/devversion
2) Do you know how to access your PHP error log file? (Your hosting company should be able to advise). Is there anything logged there from the time of the backup?
David
David,
I tried installing the development version, but the install failed, giving me this message: “The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature”
Please advise as to how to proceed.
Thanks.
All best,
Larry
Hi Larry,
Try downloading it again – that message indicates you’ve got a corrupt zip file, so presumably something went wrong whilst downloading. (It’s wordpress.org the packages up the zip files).
David
David,
I downloaded, and it did install this time. I tried running the backup, but the backup hung once again and did not complete.
What should I do now?
All best,
Larry
Hi Larry,
Please can you post the new log file?

Very weird. It looks like PHP crashes. There’s no significant code that runs after the last thing logged each attempt before something else should be logged.
If you’re happy to send your WP and FTP login credentials to contact@updraftplus.com then I can take a closer look. Alternatively, ask your web hosting company for where to find the PHP error log, and see if anything is logged in there.
