Go to the “Scanner” menu and see the “File Change Detection” tab.

    Something remains amiss.

So after receiving a report, I did next day see the box referring to changes, so I clicked the box/link to see the log of changes.

But the moment I go back into the “File Change Detection” the information is gone/lost, with the standard perform a scan page being the only option on the page.

    Ideas?

Can you please try a test by making a small change to a file (ie, add a comment to an existing file) or alternatively add a new text file to the WP root directory then do a manual scan.
Then verify if the scanner detected the change.

What may be happening in your case is that by the time you checked the file change, the system has done another automatic scan (since the time it detected the change) and hence the file comparisons are probably showing no change since last scan.

Video showing the scanning logs go POOF!

Yup, verified today as well. Data goes POOF! immediately after viewing.

So would appear we get one shot to review. When you save a single EXCLUDE item for example, better hope you saved the text above or, POOF!
It’s gone and no chance the review change log further.

The behaviour you are referring to is not a bug – that is the way this feature is currently designed, ie, after initially displaying the file change details the output box disappears upon subsequent page loads.

We might tweak this and include a small message box with a link for people to be able to view their last scan results at any time.

As you can imagine, if I wish to exclude a few things from the list, and after I enter my first item to exclude and the list disappears – that can be a bit disorienting.

I would very much like to see the scans logged. I ran mine then left the page to go see what the heck was up… sadly I didn’t do it in a new tab, so when I came back the results were gone.

Basically it’s a one shot deal. There are no change logs. The comparison is made between the last time you ran it and the present moment.

Logs would be a great addition.

Ok thanks for the comments. We’ll see what we can do to improve this.
