Fails on unregistered user comment

SH plugin version 3.8.4.1, just installed tonight.

Comment from user who is regiatered and logged in works fine. But even a simple comment from unregistered user (me) yields:

Checked javascript status in browser (Firefox 26.0) and it is enabled and running other js OK. Also tested and got same results in IE and Chrome browsers, so 2nd part of that message is erroneous.

New site (to WP, was Joomla before), just brought up yesterday, and very little traffic. Just enabled comments a couple of hours ago, so WP comment spammers wouldn’t even know about the site yet.

Spam attacks counter in dashboard appears to be incremented each time I test, and only when I test, but there is no reason for the comment to be flagged as spam, so what gives?
