• I recently resolved a problem with a WP installation, and the thread is posted under the Installation forum. However, I believe there is a lesson to be learned here for WP regarding their “Five Step Installation Instructions”. To summarize, after installation, whenever I tried to access the site, I got a “Site under construction…” message even though the site was all there. The problem was identified by iPage as their default home.html file was left on the root directory after I installed WordPress. After they renamed it, everything came up fine.

    The suggestion here is that WP might want to consider adding the recommendation in their installation instructions step five to “check for a pre-existing home.html file on their host root directory, and if found, rename it.

    This would have saved a lot of lost time on my part had I seen this. Just saying…
