I’m a newbie wordpress user, but I was able to install WordPress with a host provider and get everything to work well.
My only issue that I see so far is when a user tries to leave a comment in the reply form.

If he or she completes the form completely, it works great. If they forget to add their name, leave the comments box empty or don’t complete the email correctly and then hit the submit button, they get an HTTP 500 error saying the page can’t display.

Any suggestions on this? I”m so close to making everything work on this.

  • Hi there,

Well you might have a configuration problem. Check your admin area and make sure things like “email required” or “website required” aren’t checked off. Normally you want to have the name and email be required (prevents spam).

    Hope this helps!

I don’t know if this helps, but I just found out that this issue is
only occuring in Internet Explorer 7. I haven’t tried it in Explorer 6.0 but it does work fine in Firefox, Netscape and Opera.

I found the solution through an earlier post. See

The only thing I would add is that the functions.php in in the wp-includes file.
