Importing from my database?

While upgrading my version of wordpress using Dreamhost’s automatic updater, it some how reset my blog to where I couldn’t login. I tried to use the backup that Dreamhost’s installer makes, but it just gave me errors. So I deleted everything and started again using the same database.

All of my old posts and comments are still in that database when I browse it, but how do I get it to appear on my site? Is it possible?
