The Zotpress reference widget has generated an in-text shortcode for every citation I have tried so far except one, a book section. I have tried resyncing and changing the order of the author and the editor without success. The citation shows up when I browse. I have not tried other book sections so I don’t know if the problem is specific to this citation, just book sections, or other types of citations. Using a manually-created shortcode for the citation works as expected.

I lied. The rendered reference has no author. It does not work as expected.

Seemingly the same problem with a “Dictionary Entry” item type.

Using the format string doesn’t seem to help.

Think I’ve found something. I converted the author information from one to two fields and the book section works. So does in-text only work properly where the author’s last name is defined? If so, that’s tough for dictionary entries and the like.

I think it’s a bug! Thank you for your sleuthing — I bet it has to do with the author name.

I wasn’t able to duplicate the bug, but this issue might have been resolved due to other changes I’ve made to the widget. I’ll mark the topic as resolved for now, but if the issue persists in the upcoming version 5.1, feel free to re-open.
