Want to create Multi Author site

    Hello WordPress Support Team,

    I have a site http://www.gethow.org hosted with WordPress software. I just wanted to know how can I create it for multiple authors and subscribers.

    I tried to see allow users to create an account here but I see to many spam accounts are getting created in just few minutes, that is really mind cracking thing to me. Is any plugin out there which can fight with this spam better and will give me better layout and custom dashboard to my subscribers.
