Hi, I have almost completed a WP site based on the underscore_s theme.
On the site is the Facebook like box plugin which doesn’t show on iPad & iphone.
    The site is http://www.blikopzeewolde.nl

At first I thought, that makes sense since Ios doesn’t support flash, but I have used the same plugin on other WP themes where it does show on iPad/iPhone.

Now I guess I need to add extra css or other coding to the theme to make it work, but I have been searching on the internet for 2 days and haven’t found a clue yet.

It is NOT a plugin problem because it works fine on other sites I made.
I think it’s an Underscore_s problem. Perhaps I need to add extra code to make the site iOS compatible?

I hope anyone here can help me out.
    Thanks.

  • If you mean the FB likes in the last widget, nothing shows up there on a MacBook Air in FF, Chrome or Safari.

I don’t have a MacBook Air, I just know it doesn’t show on iPad and iPhone.

I have used exactly the same plugin on http://www.cityplot.org and there I don’t have a problem.

I have also tried other plugins, as well as the iframe option on FB developers.

Beside the FB likebox, also the weather widget is blank on ipad/iphone so I think something is missing in the core code but I have no clue what. I have read so many forum posts here and stack exchange and I don’t know what to do next.

MacBook Airs do not use iOS – so this issue is not related to that.

The weather widget IS flash-based, so that one is iOS.

The other site you mention isn’t using the same other plugins and theme or the same FB account, right?

Have you tried that FB account on a clean install with that (or any other) FB plugin?

Same plugin, other theme. That is why I believe it has to do with the
    underscore_s framework that I used.

And you’re right, I just saw it doesn’t show on IE as well…

I have just tried another FB page which also doesn’t show.

Also switched off all plugins except the facebook like box, again no difference.

I even switched theme – just using the 2013 theme.
    No difference…

So that suggests it’s not a theme problem, right? Have you asked on the plugin’s forum?

Or possibly see the replies here:

    A few similar sounding symptoms.

I have found part of the solution.

If you’re not logged in into FB, the plugin (not this one, nor any other) shows.

So I’ll search in Facebook page settings now.

Thanks for your kind replies, it helped a lot to feel that I was not alone struggling with this 🙂

That sounds like progress – yay! And you’re welcome. Things like this can definitely be frustrating…and it’s usually a tedious process of elimination to find out what the heck is going on :)!
