Hi. I have WordPress installed on the root folder (public_html) and I have a forum (phpBB) installed on public_html/forum. If I created a page called forum, which would normally create a new folder/directory with that name, would it delete my existing phpBB install at that directory?

What I want to do is have a page show up on WordPress that links to my phpBB forum. I have a link now, but having a page would be better. I just don’t want to hose my install of phpBB.

For that matter, if there is an existing folder/directory and you try to make a new page with the same name, does it normally respect the existing folder/directory or give an error message?

    Thanks in advance!

Actually, creating a Page will NOT create any directory ever! Those are just “virtual” directories (i.e. they do not physically exist), and you see them because of th use of nice permalinks. If the nice permalinks are turned off, you will not see them…

Find a plugin (like EasyRedirect) to redirect your Page to your forum.

Creating a page does not create a folder, all your files relating to WP stay in the root of where you install unless you customise the install to suit you.

2 way to go, either make phpBB look like your WP theme (mmmm!) or integrate phpBB to WP:

Here don’t know how successful or how much work is involved as never used phpBB.

Awesome. Thanks for the information! I’m going to check out WP-United. Appreciate the info and prompt responses. WordPress (and its users) rule.
