  • Providing a link that would detail this would be helpful…

Well I would agree with you but this only happens in the page editor after you have added media without a caption. Clicking on the picture in the editor pops open the image properties page. Add the caption and click on LEFT alignment. UPDATE the image. The alignment code and image are both gone.

I have done further experimenting and went back to Media and edited the image BEFORE it was inserted into the post. Then inserted the image. Then set the alignment to LEFT. The caption stayed and worked.

The link would not show what is happeing during the post edit window.

Setup and test and try it. BTW this is 3.8.

This is page with the 2nd method applied. It works (only on 1st pic )

Is this on a default theme with ALL plugins deactivated?

I was experiencing this in 7.1, upgraded to 8.0 and it’s still there.

In 8.0, with no plugins and 2014 theme – I have a page with an image already embedded in it.

I click the image icon in the image and through the menu I can change the alignment, and update it. But as soon as I insert anything into the caption, the alignment gets removed from the image, and the caption entered is never shown.
