    Some questions?

    1. What did you name the translation files?
    2. Where did you put the translation files?
    3. Did you check the permissions of the translation files?

Any of the above could prevent the translation from loading correctly. The files should be named in the same fashion as the existing translation files for other languages and reside in the same directory (see this for examples). The Dutch translations files should use nl_NL for the language notation.

    Hi,

    1. email-users-nl_NL.po
    2. wp-content/plugins/email-users/languages
    3. 644 (the samen as the others language files)

it looks ok, but i won’t show up. Do i have to activate somewhere, or does it activate automaticly after choosing base language of wordpress installation?

Can I mail you the file to check if it is alright?

    Thanx!

As long as the file is named correctly and resides in the right location, which it sounds like it does, then yes, it should work automatically based on the localization setting you set for WordPress itself. If you want to send it to me I’d be happy to try it out and include it in a test build of Email Users you could also try. Send it to me at mpwalsh8 at gmail dot com.

    Hi Mike,

Did you receive my mail with the dutch translation? If so, did you manage to work things out?

I did receive it but due to being busy at work and some unforseen personal stuff, I haven’t had any time to look at it yet. Hopefully in the next day or two I will as I have a bunch of airplane time to kill in the next two days.

    Same problem for me,
i am using WP 3.8 and Email Users 4.6.2
    file : email-users-tr_TR.mo and email-users-tr_TR.po in wp-content/plugins/email-users/languages folder and in wp-config file i’ve set define(‘WPLANG’, ‘tr_TR’);
but e-mail users doesn’t change the language.

Check the permissions on the translation file and make sure it matches the rest of the translation files in the /languages/ folder. That is what turned out to be the issues with the Dutch translation which started this thread.

Also, I have a new version in the works which addresses a bunch of translation issues so you might want to work from this version instead of the current released version.

Indeed….and don’t forget to edit the language files using poedit (can i mention that name of the program here?), that did the trick for me!

Dutch support will be available in v4.6.3, and early version can be found here. Marking this topic as resolved.
