• UPDATE: I had some problems updating theme; solution explained here: http://www.kadencethemes.com/updating-virtue-with-new-options-panel/

Revising review from 3 to 5 stars. Thanks, Kadence.

    Nice theme, no problems.

If you update the theme using the WordPress theme options, you will lose all of your settings (and of course any customizations).

I don’t know why the settings aren’t retained, but they are all lost and the theme will require complete setup.

  • Hey websta,
With the recent version switch from 1.5.6 to 1.8.1 the theme options panel changed. The new theme options panel used a different database to store information. But fear not, there is a script in the theme options that allows you to import your customizations into the new options panel. It’s in the second to last tab of the theme options.

There are some great benefits of this options panel, and one of theme is a better backup system built in when you need to transfer or save you settings.

If you have any problems getting your settings back let me know I’d be happy to help. And PS since this switch is done future updates won’t have this issue. Since there is no plan to switch the options panel again 🙂

No bother I have figured it out, but would be good to have a bigger warning sign with that update.
    Thx
