@swmagic999 – From what you are describing I would most likely recommend you have a look at our NextGEN Pro Horizontal Filmstrip Gallery display.
See this page: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-pro/ … showing captions/descriptions is an option for that Gallery.
– Cais.
Thanks. Where do the captions/descriptions show up? Any examples?
and do I have to show ALL horses with no “clustering”, ie. seeing one horse, and click on it to show the other pics of the same horse.
@swmagic999 – You may be able to combine an Album (showing a single preview image) with the Gallery Display that will suit what you are describing.
The captions can show up at the top or bottom of the image in their own space or as an overlay.
Please feel free to send any questions you have about NextGEN Pro via our contact form here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/contact
We can get into more specifics from that conversation.
Thanks!

I like the overlay idea. But to be clear that you understand what I want, I like that display format for each horse. But can I then click on the main picture and take me to other pictures of the horse. I’m assuming that that latter page is a gallery. Where would that be set? (I’m ok with pointing me to documentation!)
@swmagic999 – Look at the Album / Sub-Album / Gallery structure and think of the Album Thumbnail in a very large size (which also means you may need a very good quality image for it to be generated from).
Then when you open the Sub-Album (which contains the Gallery), you can set the Gallery to open in any of the Gallery display types you have available. We don’t really have a “live” example of that but we could sort out something for you to see and get back to you via your Contact form submission.

Did you have any luck making the scenario work with the Filmstrip? I’m ready to purchase the Pro version.
