I’m afraid we haven’t implemented any kind of count that would allow you to find how many people have shared a post by clicking on the Share button on your site. That’s something we’ve added to WordPress.com, but we haven’t ported it to Jetpack just yet. Keep an eye on our changelog, we’ll mention it there as soon as we do!

You won’t be able to find out who shared your post, though; Facebook keeps such information private.

so what are the numbers that appear next to facebook and twitter then? i thought that was the count of how many times they have been shared??

i was also under the impression you could see where facebook shares are shared to as you would on facebook itself.. guess not 🙂

Yes, that’s the count of how many times your post has been shared. But it doesn’t necessarily mean that someone clicked the sharing button on your site; they could have tweeted the link directly, or shared it on Facebook by copying and pasting the link.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.
