Firstly, I’m very grateful to you for adding the long/lat option so the plugin is now usable outside of the US.

Excuse my ignorance but is the Havdallah time the time that Shabbat ends? If so, how do I know how may minutes to use for the Minutes past sunset option? I changed this to 47 mins to get the same time as provided by the Chabad site for Auckland, New Zealand (Latitude: -36.8666700, Longitude: 174.7666700) but is this correct or is the default 72 mins correct for everywhere? (Or maybe yours is correct with 72 mins and Chabad is wrong?) (The default 18 mins for the Minutes before sunset option is the same as the Chabad time).

Is it possible to use the wording, “Shabbat Ends” rather than “Havdalah (47 min)”?

    Thanks in anticipation.

Thank you for the kind words. Creating this was a learning experience for me too.

Shabbat end time (the number of minutes after sunset) can be several different numbers depending on where you are on the globe. It is REALLY tied to the time you can reliably see 3 stars in the sky, which is anywhere between 42 and 72 minutes after sunset.

The inimitable Hebcal.com has a complete discussion here:

If your local Chabad goes with 47, I’d go with it too.
