Please switch to default unedited theme and deactivate all plugins. Review site functionality, then troubleshoot the non-compliant add-in. There is no better method than to start with what is known to work and work well…
If i switch to a default theme, won’t I be starting from scratch with my entire site? I would lose everything. Nor do I know how to build it. I paid hundreds to have the thing custom edited in the first place.
Switching themes is standard troubleshooting – and you should not lose anything when you switch back. However, it would be wise to have a backup of your site if you are concerned about that.

ah, okay. starting to see. I’m on a customized version of peerapong’s Atlas theme (http://themeforest.net/item/atlas-for-photography-creative-portfolio/306532), but a very old version, v1.5. He is now up to v2.1. For the life of me, can’t figure out how to update it, though.
General info about themes:

But you’ll need to ask the developer or ThemeForest about the best way to update yours – as commercial themes aren’t supported here:

If it’s a customized version, you may lose all the customizations – depending on how they were made. So definitely make sure you’ve backed up the site before doing anything.
I’ve managed to downgrade wordpress for now. I think updating my current theme might break all the customizations i had done originally. Looks good on the front, but I fear the back-end may be rather messy. Guess I’m stuck in the past for now. Thanks for all the suggestions!
You should be aware that using an outdated version of WP is a significant security risk – you’re running a real risk of getting hacked. It’s not recommended. So you really should get these issues fixed so you can stay updated always.
THanks WPyogi. Working on it, but I don’t have full control over the situation yet. Maybe I should delete this post so it’s not common knowledge? Is that even possible?
It is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from. Editing or deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information but. generally, your best course of action is not to publish anything that you wouldn’t want to be public.

I’m sorry but this is not an extreme case.
I certainly understand, however I obviously didn’t know that the information was sensitive. It was a forum response that informed me I’m at risk. Now I’m at further risk because it is public, but I don’t currently have the means to fix the problem. It may take days, weeks or longer as I await responses from multiple parties. Maybe my username and website info can be removed, with the questions and answers retained.
There is nothing in this topic that poses a security risk.
