• On my site with Yoast installed we are unable to get the title tags to update. We’ve used Yoast SEO on about 50 other sites with no problem.

    We’ve tried:
    – using this <title><?php wp_title(”); ?></title>
    – deactivating all other plugins
    – re-installing Yoast
    – force re-write option (on and off)

When it’s installed it just pulls the site title and description from the general WordPress settings. When we uninstall it, our site uses “Page Title | Site Title”

Bottom line is, Yoast isn’t pulling the Title’s that we are giving it per page.

Also when we uninstalled completely and reinstalled, we could see that the page settings were still there. As a side question, how do you completely remove the plugin?

  • I noticed the same issue on my blog. No page specific titles, just the generic site title and description. Existing meta data will be removed after the a post has updated via quick edit for example. It used to work just fine.
