    Hey achyut123,

Could you paste the URL of the site that you have the plugin enabled on so we can take a look into what the issue might be?

    Thanks,
    Henry

Heya – I’m having the same problem. The theme I’m using shows content on the homepage via a custom page template; there’s no actual content on the “page” itself. As such, I want to set the mobile homepage to the blog page so that a simple list of posts shows up. I set the dropdown to the Blog page but preview (and test on my phone) still show the blank homepage placeholder page. Bummer, ’cause otherwise your plugin looks amazing! Any ideas?

    Hey yaydesign,

Does the blog page have content in the page itself or is it a custom template that simply lists all the posts in the blog? Did you try setting Custom Front Page to None? If so, what was the result of that?

    Hi!

I also have the same issue, which is quite a bummer given that your plugin otherwise seems perfect for my use.

I have tried to change Custom Front Page to none, which makes no change. No matter what I choose from the various options, both the preview and my actual accessing of the site opens my default landing page. The default page is IN NO SHAPE OR FORM IDEAL for mobile, so it would be great to have the possibility to open a custom front page.

I would really like some assistance with this if possible!

    Best regards,
    Arildd

    Hey achyut123,

Thanks for sending the URL of the page, if you could enable the plugin as well that would help in figuring out the behavior. Also, is the page using any custom frameworks or shortcodes to display the content? Or is it just a normal WordPress page template with text in the body?

    arildd,

By the default the home page (if no custom page is selected) is a listing of posts, so if you have no posts then nothing will show. However, if you are selecting a number of different pages and nothing shows up then that’s an issue. Could you send a link of your website (also make sure the plugin is activated for us to take a look). Thanks!

    Thank you for your reply!

Your comment kind of illuminated my problem for me – I use a child theme of Twenty Twelve with a Static front page. The static front page setting in the Appearance settings may seem to override the Custom Front page setting in WPSmart. When I deactivated the static front page setting it worked fine, but since I use the plugin Sidebar & Widget Manager the landing page on a PC/Mac is…. sub-optimal, to say to the least.

I would guess that the newfound question then would be if there is any way to make WPSmart’s custom front page override the static front page setting…..

The link is at http://bunheim.com/dev/ot/ – WPSmart is activated (with the desired custom front page), which is not appearing.

I suspected that might be my problem, too. But I cannot turn off my custom desktop front page to test it.

There must be a way to do it, because the plugin I’m using now works with a custom front page for desktop users and one for mobile. However, I’m not a big fan of its UI.

Does anyone know the answer to this? It is the only current obstacle to my issue. A solution or some sort of direction would be extremely appreciated.

Some themes have a widgetised front page and therefore may not be included as content. If you search around there are some tutorials on changing the existing CSS structure using media queries that can make any theme responsive. Bit of a task but may be less work than changing to a responsive theme I suspect.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for all your insight, we’re currently looking into this and will have something to address to address the custom front page issue in a coming release.

    Thanks!

Hi, is there any answer to this yet? I am having the same problem and would love to have it resolved, thanks

As a temporary fix, I am using a mobile URL redirect just for the homepage. Enter your mobile front page URL and presto!

I really like WP Mobile Theme plugin and I hope they find a solution for this issue.
