• So I was running a Theme Check and noticed the following warning:

    WARNING: single.php Symptom of a link injection attack [1]
    Line 37: </div><!--tags--><?php } ?>

    I’m pretty sure this is a false positive (it’s just the last line of a conditional statement) but I wanted to report that the reference link in this warning (anchor text “[1]”) links to a third-party site which is a 404: kyle-brady.com/2009/11/07/wordpress-mediatemple-and-an-injection-attack/

    It seems the kyle-brady.com domain is still registered but the blog portion is offline. I’ll try to see if any of that content is salvageable on Archive.org, but as of now…I’m not really sure what the warning means exactly.

    In the future, I think all these sorts of outgoing in-plugin reference links should be pointed to WordPress.org, and not third-party sites, to ensure some form of continuity.

    Overall not a huge deal, just wanted to give the plugin authors a heads up about this.
