I’m transferring my WP site to another server and so far so good, but I’m having trouble transferring the links. Is there a way to transfer them? Where are they located? Thanks,

P.S. I’ve tried all of the Export Plugins and none of them do links.

The original site has several hundred hyperlinks to local store and business websites. They are under a widget called “Links” Thanks,

    Hi, robie1.
What kind of links are those.
I guess internal, but I need you to confirm.
And give me one of that links if they are internal, so I can give you a solution.

Thanks LapanWebsite, these are not internal, they are external links to the websites of local businesses. Here is a link to the WP site. The links in question are like the three links on the left side.

I’m beginning to think that they must be in the database but unfortunately I don’t have phpMyAdmin access to the database. Is there any other way to get them?

When you moved your site, did you follow all of the relevant instructions in Moving_WordPress?

They are in the database in a table called “links” I found them in the new database which I do have access via phpMyAdmin.

There is no table that is just called “links” in WordPress by default. Were you perhaps using a plugin for these links previously?

If you’re talking about your old posts, just go to your WordPress dashboard, click Settings, then permalinks and update your permalinks by clicking save changes button, this will regenerate your Htaccess file and resetting your links to work again.

esmi: thanks for the suggestion, but as stated previously I don’t have access to the database of the old site, therefore I can’t follow the suggestions in Moving Word Press which require the backup of the database. I’ve tried phpMySql and RazorSQL to get into the old database without success. So far the new site is 99% functional, except for the missing links, by use of various combinations of export/import Plugins. The Links table in the database is there because of the use of a widget called Link-Manager.

Fathi: Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn’t help because the links are not in the database at this time.

I hope someone can figure out a way to export/import that “Links” table from the old database. If not, I see myself typing in about 200 links.

I did it!!! I made use of a Plugin called “Links Short Code”. The only problem I had was in formatting the links for input through phpMyAdmin. It is very fussy about the CSV format. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
